Hints and Tips - Save Money Now!

  • Tyre Pressures - Easy money saver! One of the simplest tasks that any vehicle owner can perform periodically is to set the tyre pressures. You can find the correct information in your vehicle handbook (if this is missing please contact us for a replacement book) or you can find it in the driver's door jamb close to the striker on the body towards the rear. These are stated in units of Bar so remember that 1 Bar = 14.7 PSI. Also as a rule of thumb it is recommended that the driving wheels (usually the rear wheels on a BMW) have 2 PSI more pressure applied than the front axle, particularly when more weight is added to the vehicle in the form of luggage or more passengers. Most tyres suffer from under inflation, which you can see from the diagram below, wears the shoulders of the tyre.

  • Warrant of Fitness (WOF) - always check your WOF sticker for the expiry date to ensure your car is safe and insurable.
